We will reduce the environmental burden of textile and consumer product waste.
Thrift NYC is a nonprofit that operates a thrift store in Staten Island, New York. The U.S. EPA estimates that textile waste occupies nearly 5% of all landfill space. Every year, New Yorkers throw out 200,000 tons of clothing and textiles. We collect donations of usable items and reintroduce these products into the market, diverting it from becoming harmful landfill waste. We use the net revenue from our thrift store to fund local environmental initiatives.
We will reduce the amount of textile and other consumer products that will end up as harmful landfill waste.
Through our Thrift NYC location in Staten Island, we will find a new home for your donated items.
In addition to directly diverting landfill waste, the net revenue from Thrift NYC funds environmental initiatives.
